What are witnesses, and when do I need them? In Texas, certain documents require witnesses in addition to notarization. Wills, living wills (directive to physicians), and declarations of guardian typically require 2 witnesses. Medical powers of attorney require either a notary OR 2 witnesses (not both). Standard mobile notary work usually does not require witnesses. When in doubt, ask — we advise on requirements before the appointment.
